Privacy
Record only what the study needs.
ClearFive is designed for voluntary usability research on non-sensitive web products.
Effective July 23, 2026
Participant control
Screen capture requires explicit consent. Participants choose the browser window to share and may stop sharing at any time. ClearFive never requests microphone, camera, or system audio.
Founder responsibility
Do not test health, financial, employment, education, children’s, regulated, or otherwise sensitive journeys. Never ask participants to enter passwords, payment details, or personal information.
Storage and access
Recordings and participant screenshots are private, accessible only to the study owner and authorized ClearFive operators, and scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Incomplete uploads expire after one day. A founder may delete evidence sooner. Report links are revocable bearer links. Raw IP addresses are not stored.
Service providers
ClearFive uses Neon for database and account authentication, Netlify for application hosting, Cloudflare R2 for private media storage, and Resend for transactional account email. Each provider receives only the data needed to deliver that function.
Accounts and deletion
Account identity, study configuration, written responses, observations, reports, and security audit records remain while the beta account is active or as needed to operate and protect the service. To request access or deletion, email privacy@tryclearfive.com.
Demo mode
Local demo data remains on the developer’s machine. Sample findings are fictional and labeled throughout the interface.
